My earliest memory of Sicily is this picture. I’ve always remembered all the family coming over for lunches and dinner. It was always such a lovely tradition, as it is in Sicily. Family is the most important thing, followed by amazing food. I will always remember my Nonna and Nonno preparing everything all morning, cutting fresh vegetables, fish, and meat they had bought at the local market that day. Even today, everyone still goes to the local markets to get their essentials.
I had always dreamed of starting my own business. That dream began to take shape on a family holiday in Sicily, where Jodie and I were visiting my Nonna with our daughters. Surrounded by tradition, incredible food, and some of the finest olive oil we had ever tasted from our family farm near Alcamo, just outside Palermo, we had a simple idea: to bring that same quality back home.
We started small, with just 15 litres of olive oil. To our surprise, it sold out within four days. That early response gave us the confidence to take a bigger step, and soon after, we began importing 200 litres every few months.
Our very first event was the Chilli Cheese Festival in Guildford, which marked an exciting milestone for us. From there, we worked hard to find new markets and opportunities. When we were accepted into the Haslemere Farmers’ Market, everything began to grow. That’s where we really started to build a loyal customer base — people who appreciated not just the taste, but the quality and authenticity of our olive oil.
What started as a simple idea on a family holiday quickly turned into something much bigger, driven by passion, hard work, and a commitment to sharing something we truly believe in.

Today, our business has grown far beyond those early days. We now import a carefully selected range of eleven authentic products, each chosen for its quality, flavour, and connection to Sicilian tradition.
Our collection includes everything from artisan pasta and rich passata to indulgent truffle products, alongside favourites like our pecorino cheese, olives, pestos, and classic cannoli. One of our proudest creations is our homemade Bruschetta Mix, which has developed a loyal following and become a true customer favourite.
Every product we offer reflects our original mission to bring genuine, high-quality Italian flavours to our customers. As we’ve grown, so has our passion for sourcing the very best, while staying true to the values that inspired us from the very beginning.

Looking ahead, mine and Zelma’s dream is to take the next exciting step — opening our own deli alongside a small, intimate restaurant.
This space will be more than just somewhere to eat. It will be a celebration of family, tradition, and authentic Sicilian cooking. We want to bring my mum’s and Nonna’s recipes to life — dishes passed down through generations, made with love, and rooted in true Sicilian heritage. It’s the kind of food I grew up with, inspired by moments that feel just like those seen in Nonnas on Netflix, where family gathers, stories are shared, and everything centres around the kitchen.
Some of my favourite memories are of family coming over, filling the house and gathering in the kitchen — cooking together, laughing, and creating something special. I was always there, tasting, learning, and soaking it all in.
That’s exactly what we want to share: real, homemade, delicious food made with passion and tradition. Our goal is to create a place where others can experience that same warmth, authenticity, and love through every dish we serve.
Zelma has also become such a huge part of this journey. Since coming on board, she has thrown herself completely into helping grow the Nonna’s name and vision. From running our social media and helping push the brand forward, to attending almost every market, she has been there every step of the way. Whether working behind the scenes or serving customers face-to-face, she’s brought not only her warm, welcoming smile but also so much energy, passion, and commitment to the team.
And, as everyone always says, she somehow looks more Sicilian than I! Blame my English dad!!!
She has truly become an incredible asset to the journey, helping turn a family passion into something bigger that we hope to share with many more people in the future
